WEST HAZLETON - On Friday, September 9th of 2016, around 6 o'clock in the morning, West Hazleton Police responded to Susquehanna Boulevard after receiving the report of a traffic crash.
Upon arrival, Police located a man who sustained injuries when a vehicle he was operating struck a roadside curb at a high rate of speed.
During the course of investigating the crash, Police discovered the man possessed over 400 bags of heroin.
Due to the significant injuries he sustained, the male was transported to a medical treatment facility.
West Hazleton Police obtained an arrest warrant for the male while he was being treated.
The male fled from a medical treatment facility before Police were able to take him into custody.
Joseph Andrew Guaman, 19, of Hazleton, has been charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
On Sunday, October 9th, Guaman appeared at the West Hazleton Police Department to turn himself in.
Guaman had multiple warrants from (3) agencies, and was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility where he was lodged.
