HAZLETON, Pa. - On Sunday morning, Hazleton Patrol Officers responded to 615 East Broad Street for the report of a male breaking windows and illegally entering vehicles in the area.
Upon arrival Hazleton Police Officers observed, Michael Anthony Caceres, 20, inside a vehicle which did not belong to him.
The defendant was observed removing something from his pocket, and throwing it underneath the seat of the vehicle.
Upon checking the vehicle Hazleton Officers located (24) bundles (240 packets) of heroin under the seat where the defendant was observed placing something.
The Defendant was taken into custody and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia, Theft From a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, and Public Drunkenness.
The Defendant was later transported to LCCF for overnight arraignment.
Police Chief, Jerry Speziale, issued the following statements via a press release:
"The officers were able to quiclky see the situation for what it was and were endowed with the skills required to arrest the individual removing him from our streets"
"If you come to Hazleton to violate the law we will vigorousley pursue you if your involved in illegal activity."

The incident's correct location is 615 East Broad Street, instead of 572 Alter Street, as previously reported. HPD confirmed this in a corrected press release.
