HAZLETON - On Saturday, August 20th, at approximately 4:00 PM, HPD responded to the 100 block of West Magnolia Street for the report of a burglary.
Upon arrival, subsequent investigation indicated that during the day, an unknown actor(s) entered the residence and removed several hundred dollars worth of property.
Further investigation, led to a surveillance after speaking with members of the community and the investigation revealed and identified Shirley Hill as the alledged actor.
Shirley Hill, 46, of Hazleton was located in the 100 block of North Laurel Street on Monday, 08/22/16, at approximately 8:00 PM when she was taken into custody by Officer Jessica Ann Hutnik without incident.
Shirley Hill admitted to being in the area on the day of the burglary and selling the stolen items for heroin.
She was subsequently charged with Burglary, Criminal Tresspass, Theft, and Receiving Stolen Property and transported to Luzerne County Correctional Facility without further incident.
