MCADOO - Since earlier this week, there's been a surge in clown sightings across our area. On Thursday, we made a post on our Facebook page claiming that these reports haven't been confirmed so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
According to several major media outlets throughout the country, the clowns are attempting to lure children into the woods.
A reader of ours submitted this photo to us of a clown that was spotted in McAdoo sometime between 6 and 7 o'clock yesterday evening.
"I was at the McAdoo courts hanging out with my friends and a clown came running out of no where." the anonymous woman said. "I look and all of a sudden he disappeared into the woods."
The woman tells us that the majority of her friends freaked out and ran away.
However, she and a few others stayed behind and waited to see where he had gone.
A short time later, she spotted the clown and quickly snapped a photo of it.
South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Tennessee have all reported of scary clown sightings over the summer. And now, you can add Pennsylvania to that list.
Author's closing remarks:
The Hazleton Headlines won't take these reports lightly. While this may be a hoax, we aren't going to deny the story coverage.
Also, keep in mind that it's never safe to walk alone, regardless of where you live and what time of day it is. Walk with a friend and don't accept rides from strangers.
