HAZLETON, Pa. -- Yesterday afternoon, Chief of Hazleton Police, Jerry Speziale hosted a press conference, where he aggressively announced the city's new crime-fighting plan.
Throughout this summer into September, the police presence in Hazleton will strongly be felt more than ever as more officers take the streets to patrol in highly reported crime areas -- otherwise known as "hotspots."
A $23,000 federal grant that Speziale secured will allow for this happen.
On Friday, Speziale sent out a warning to those who wish to come to Hazleton on bad intents.
He said, "If you are a criminal, if you’re coming to Hazleton -- the law, I don’t care what the law is, if you’re coming to disrupt the quality of life, do yourself a favor...stay on 80 and go the other direction. Do not turn off at the sign that says Hazleton."
It does us great pleasure to confirm that Speziale is one badass police chief, and that he's not taking anyone's shit when you step into his jurisdiction.
