HAZLETON - On Friday, August 19th, at 6:39 PM, HPD investigated a complaint involving threats to an individual.
The elderly victim was threatened with serious bodily harm by striking or shooting. Hazleton Patrol units responded to the area of Jason Road to search for the above referenced defendant with PASP and West Hazleton Police as backup.
Upon arrival, Frank Ceikalsky, 47, of Hazleton was found in the rear yard in possession of a .44 magnum handgun and full capacity ammunition belt.
The officers were able to surprise the defendant and take him into custody without incident.
The weapon was seized and the individual was charged with terroristic threats and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
The following statement was issued by the Chief of Police, Jerry Speziale:
"We will not tolerate anyone, much less the elderly to be threated by anyone in our City."
