MCADOO, Pa. -- A McAdoo native, and a long-time business owner of Postie's Beverages, Jimmy "Soda Man" Dvorshock, passed away at the age of 85 on Sunday.
Jimmy was responsible for distributing Postie's branded-soda to several markets across Schuylkill County and the surrounding communities.
For more than seven decades, Jimmy worked for the soda and beer distributor.
Through the years, Jimmy's longitivtiy exceeded those who he had shared the business with.
He became one of the last sole owners at Postie's.
"Jimmy was someone who treated you with the respect you gave him, " says McAdoo Fire Chief, Robert Leshko.
My father, Peter Wood, was a close friend of Jimmy's and a former employee for him back in the 90's at Postie's.
"Jimmy used to tell me that a man oughta always wear a T-shirt, wear a belt, carry a hanky, and make sure he has a good pair of work boots," says Peter. "He was always there to help anyone in need. I'll miss him dearly."
Jimmy will forever be recognised by locals as a legend in the McAdoo area.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in tomorrow's edition of the Hazleton Standard-Speaker newspaper.
