Rebecca Schell, 12th grade student at the Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences, will travel to Texas this November to participate in the National Association for Music Education, NAfME, All-National Honors Ensembles where she will play the Contra-alto Clarinet in the concert band.
All participating students had to qualify and attend their All-State or equivalent ensembles in their respective state.
The All-National Honors Ensembles will consist of musicians from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Schools abroad.
Schell, after attending the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, PMEA, All-State Concert Band in Hershey, PA, this past March, submitted a successful audition to NAfME, which allowed her to qualify for this honor.
The All-National Honors Ensembles include a symphonic orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and a mixed (male and female) chorus. It will be held from November 10th to 13th in Grapevine, Texas, concluding with a public concert for each ensemble.
