SUGARLOAF, Pa. -- On Saturday, October 14th, at around 9 o'clock in the morning, Police was dispatched to the Motel 6 in the township for a report of a male impersonating a Police Officer.
On Police arrived to the scene, the male was taken into custody without incident.
Through the Officer’s investigation it was discovered that the male hired a prostitute online.
When the female arrived at the motel the male identified himself as a DEA Agent.
The female was handcuffed and held in a motel room.
The female was able to convince the male that she needed to go to her car to retrieve drugs.
When the male allowed her to do so she fled the area and called 911.
The male was identified as Martin Smith from Florida.
Smith had in his possession a metal pellet gun, a fake DEA badge, handcuffs and Narcotics.
Smith was charged with unlawful restraint, impersonating a Police Officer, prostitution and narcotic related charges.
Smith was lodged at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
