HAZLETON - Shortly after 9 o'clock on Sunday night, officers of Hazleton City Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 gold Saturn Aura in the area of West Diamond Avenue and Lincoln Street.
Upon investigation, the operator of the vehicle and defendant, Eshawn Harrell, 22, originally gave law enforcements Officers a false identification and then fled from the traffic stop.
According to a press release, Harrell traveled through 15 stops signs and 4 red traffic signals throughout the city before finally coming to final rest into a fence in the 200 block of S. Wyoming Street.
Harrell was then taken into custody and police discovered that he had two warrants for his arrest.
Inside the vehicle, police observed a large amount of cash, cell phones, scale, drug packaging materials, and a substance ready to be packaged identified as fentanyl.
Chief of Police, Jerry Speziale had the following to say:
Harrell is being charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Recklessly Endangering, False ID to Law Enforcement, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and numerous Traffic Violations.
Harrell was transported to LCCF.
