MCADOO, Pa. - Last month, McAdoo Borough Council awarded a six-year garbage removal contract to County Waste for roughly $700K.
Beginning yesterday, McAdoo residents were able to place recyclables alongside trash for pick up under the new garbage removal contract.
In Autumn of 2016, memebers of council expressed interest in County Waste & Recycling.
The firm already has contracts with neighboring municipals to McAdoo, such as Hazleton.
To residents who have accounts paid in full, County Waste will provide two seperate containers, one for trash and the other for recycles.
The firm will conduct a bulk item pick up on the second Monday of each months.
According to borough Secretary Diane Minneci, trash will be picked up on Mondays; and if a holiday falls on a Monday, collections would then be moved to the following day.
