MCADOO, Pa. -- Shortly before 9 o'clock on Thursday night, multiple BB gun shots were fired from a car driving by the Adams Street Playground, striking one teenager who was at the basketball courts with his two other friends.
The vehicle was described as being a black SUV with dark, tinted windows.
The shots left two marks on the minor's body; one on his arm, and the other on his leg.
An incident report was filed with the McAdoo Police Department.
Officer Fred of the McAdoo Police Dept. also made comment on how the borough surprisingly has zero surveillance cameras hooked up at any of the parks in McAdoo, including the Adams Street Playground.
With that being said, this won't be an easy investigation to crack.
Though it seems unlikely that the drive-by shooter or shooters will be busted, this incident could serve as a reason for the community to demand for McAdoo Council to invest in surveillance cameras.
Considering how many fighting incidents are reported to occur at the parks in McAdoo, Council should definitely work surveillance cameras into the borough's budget.
While McAdoo doesn't have a drug epidemic, it needs to be said that law enforcement and the community must unite in keeping the streets safe from incidents like this happening regularly.
