SUGARLOAF, Pa. -- On Monday, August 14th, just minutes before 1 o'clock in the morning, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle with inoperable registration lights.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
While the officer was making his approach to the driver, the vehicle drove off.
The officer began to pursue the vehicle at high speeds.
Due to the time of day and traffic being limited the officer felt it was safe to continue with the pursuit.
The officer pursued the vehicle through Sugarloaf Township, South Centre Township, Nescopeck Borough, Berwick Borough and Salem Township. Berwick Police Department successfully deployed spike strips on the vehicle.
The vehicle came to a rest at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Shickshinny.
Through further investigation it was determined both driver and passenger had warrants for their arrest.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located narcotics and paraphernalia inside of the vehicle.
23-year-old, Shyann Boyer, of Port Clinton and 25-year-old, Nicole Vuocola, of Berwick were transported to Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
