HAZLETON, Pa. -- On August 10th, 2016, Hazleton City Police and Fire Dpeartments were dispatched to 984 North Locust Street in Hazleton City to investigate a report of an individual throwing an object on the porch of the property and the building catching on fire.
Patrol Corporal George Schaffer arrested a male at the time named Gary Smith as he was encountered fleeing the scene.
Based on a (10) month investigation, on June 6, 2017, at approximately 3:00PM, a second individual involved in the incident was identified as 47-year-old, Jeffrey Rapach and arrested without incident.
Rapach was arrested by Warrant.
He is facing (1) Felony 1 Count of Arson, (1) Felony 2 Count of Arson and (1) Felony 3 Count of Arson.
Jeffrey Rapach is also facing a Misdemeanor 1 Count of Incendiary Devices.
Rapach was arraigned before Judge Hallasey and was unable to post bail. Bail was set at $250,000 cash only.
