HAZLETON, Pa. -- In the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 31st, Hazleton Police narcotics detectives, who are members of the Luzerne county drug task force, conducted a several week investigation into the illegal distribution of narcotics.
During the investigation detectives were able to purchase heroin off of 25-year-old, Danbury Cana-Mejia, of 127 West Diamond Ave. in Hazleton and 25-year-old, Hector Manuel Sanchez-Guzman of 127 West Diamond Ave.
On Tuesday, Hazleton Narcotics detectives along with members of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force from West Hazleton, Butler Twp. and Sugarloaf Twp. executed a search warrant at 127 West Diamond Avenue in the City of Hazleton.
Along with Mejia and Guzman during the execution of the search warrant investigators arrested a third man, 22-year-old, Emmanuel Garcia Arias, of 127 West Diamond Ave. in Hazleton.
During execution of the warrant defendants attempted to flush illegal narcotics down the toilet in a second floor bathroom.
Detectives removed the toilet and the drugs were recovered.
The individuals are being processed and in custody at Hazleton Police Headquarters pending arraignment.
Total of 2 vehicles were seized and towed and the local animal shelter was contacted to take custody of a dog inside the location for safekeeping.
Hazleton code enforcement was called and responded because of the dog feces throughout the basement of the location.
