WEST HAZLETON, Pa. - Yesterday, November 14th, agents from the Luzerne County District Attorney's Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence at 12 South 3rd Street, concluding a months long investigation.
Luzerne County District Attorney's Drug Task Force is comprised of Officers from the West Hazleton Police Department, Hazleton Police Department Narcotics Unit and Special Operations Group (SOG), and Sugarloaf Police Department.
During the raid, Officers seized over 70 grams of heroin/fentanyl, both packaged and raw, numerous oxycontin pills, a small amount of crack cocaine and marijuana, over $5000 in cash, two handguns, numerous cell phones, and various packaging and related paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation and seizure, West Hazleton Police charged Wilburt Gary, 51, and Blease Franklin III, 19, with Felony counts of Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Criminal Use of a Communication Facility, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
Both Gary and Franklin were arraigned in front of Magistrate James Dixon and remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility after being unable to post $100,000 bail.
