HAZLETON, Pa. -- A two-month investigation by Hazleton Police ended in a drug raid and arrests.
The Hazleton City Police Department Narcotics Unit in conjunction with the Luzerne County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation throughout this summer into the illegal sale of narcotics, specifically heroin/fentanyl and crack-cocaine, in the Alter Street business district area, more so, 1st and Alter Streets throughout 5th and Alter Streets.
Numerous controlled buys were conducted during the investigation involving Julius FREEMAN and Jose RODRIGUEZ-MEDRANO.
On September 12, 2017, at around 10:30 in the morning, a search warrant was executed at 569 Alter Street Apartment #5, where RODRIGUEZ-MEDRANO was staying, by the Hazleton City Police Department Special Operations Group, Hazleton City Narcotics Unit, Hazleton City Police Department Patrol Division and members of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force.
RODRIGUEZ-MEDRANO fled from the scene at the time of the raid and is currently at large. He is to be considered to have violent tendencies.

RODRIGUEZ-MEDRANO is 5 feet 07 inches tall and weighs 160 lbs.
During the raid, Julius FREEMAN was also taken into custody in the business district today at approximately 10:22 this morning.
26-year-old, Jose RODRIGUEZ-MEDRANO, of 569 Alter Street, Apt. 5 in Hazleton was charged on (6) Counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance all Felony charges and (1) Possession of heroin with Intent to Deliver, Felony
36-year-old, Julius FREEMAN, of 409 East Chestnut Street in Hazleton was charged with (2) Counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, both felony charges.
