EDITORIAL - As someone who experienced a house fire, I would like to send my thoughts and prayers out to the families who were involved in the fires last night in Weatherly and Freeland.
We all take for granted that a house fire would never happen to us.
When my fire happened, I was not prepared and did not have renters insurance. It was only after the fire, did I realize how affordable renters insurance was.
Please take this time to make sure smoke alarms are in working order, fire escapes and all exits are clutter free and look into renters insurance if you don't already have it.
For anyone looking to help, please contact the Hazleton Headlines and we will share information such as clothing size and other necessities that these families may need right now.
The Red Cross is a great place to ask for assistance as well as your local churches.
A big thank you to the firefighters and other response teams for being there and making sure no one was injured.
