DRUMS, Pa. -- On Friday, April 14th, at approximately 10:30 at night, an officer on patrol conducted traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment violation on South Junter Highway near Rittenhouse Place.
During the traffic stop, Police detected marijuana in the vehicle subsequently a police K9, Echo handled by Cpl. Schaffer of the Hazleton City Police Department was called to conduct a search of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle located a quantity or marijuana and cocaine, as well as a firearm.
A check revealed that the driver did not have a valid concealed weapon permit.
29-year-old, Jose Vasquez, of Hazleton, was charged with firearms not to be carried without a license possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
He was transported to the Luzerne County prison to await an overnight arraignment.
