WEST HAZLETON - Yesterday, August 30th, at around 6:30 PM, West Hazleton Police were summoned to the Donut Connection, after receiving the report of people fighting in the business’ parking lot.
Through investigation, police learned that three males inside a vehicle attempted to run another vehicle occupied by two males two females, off the roadway as they traveled on Susquehanna Boulevard.
The driver drove into the Donut Connection Parking lot in an effort to elude the vehicle that was being operated in an erratic manner, but was followed by the erratic vehicle, which struck a curb before coming to rest.
After both vehicles stopped, a physical altercation occurred between the the five male occupants.
At one point a male was pinned to the ground and struck in the head and face multiple times, causing contusions and lacerations.
Nelson PEREZ-CRESPO, 39, of West Hazleton, Nelson PEREZ-MONTALVO, 19, of West Hazleton, and Luis RIVERA-SANCHEZ, 19, of West Hazleton, were taken into custody on scene and face multiple Felony and Misdemeanor charges.
The three men were transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility after being processed and await a formal arraigment.
Police discovered the fight stemmed from an ongoing altercation after a larger fight involving 15 to 20 people - some armed with weapons - occurred on Sunday August 28th, in the area of Lincalis street, and another incident occurring earlier in the day at Pantry Quik.
Additional charges will be filed at the conclusion of an ongoing investigation.
